Housestaff Conclude Opening Proposals, 4/17/2007
During the bargaining session on April 13th, the CIR/SEIU negotiation committee presented its final set of ten opening proposals to management’s negotiating team. This round of proposals included our ideas about how to improve ancillary services to better allow us to care for our patients. Other proposals focused on central issues of resident life, like child care arrangements, vacation, and other leave time. Lastly, our housestaff negotiators presented what we would like to see regarding our salary and the ever-important issue of our health insurance.
At the next bargaining session management will respond to our proposals with their counter-proposals. This session is scheduled for Monday, April 23rd at 5:00pm on the third floor of the Dominici Center, the same location of the previous two bargaining sessions. All interested housestaff are encouraged to attend.
