Residents Present Opening Proposals, 4/5/07

The CIR/SEIU Negotiating Committee at the first bargaining session on April 4th.

April 5, 2007

On the evening of April 4, 2007, the CIR/SEIU Negotiating Committee presented a set of 30 union contract proposals to UNM’s Management Team. The proposals focused on improving both patient care and resident well-being at UNM, including our ideas on the important issues of safety and security, meals, call rooms and lounges, and the Patient Care Fund.

At the next session, scheduled for April 13th, our resident representatives will present the final set of our initial proposals, including those related to salary, heath insurance, ancillary staffing, and vacation and leave time.

The Negotiating Committee has spent countless hours preparing these proposals, using the results from the contract priorities survey completed by a majority of residents in February.

The next Bargaining Session will be Friday, April 13th at 5:00 PM in the Dominici Center, Room 3010 (The new School of Medicine building across from the library). Keep checking back to this website for updates after each session.
